After many months of planning with our partner and Associate member, Hope & Main Culinary Incubator, we held our 2nd Annual Lobster Boil fundraiser in mid-August. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. Many people and businesses and their contributions allowed this event to come together as well as it did. Hope & Main producers and artisans, vendors donating product, volunteers, sponsors, Hope & Main staff and of course ACF chefs.
Thank You from all of us at ACFRI.

Ken manned the main kitchen while Chris held down the appetizer area and Geo jumped in and helped out producing some hors d’oeuvres for the appetizer hour. Ray took charge of family meal and Dan jumped in wherever was needed, we had our bases covered. Thanks to Linda, who drove across the State, picked up wine, mussels, potatoes and corn. Slim Jim brought lobsters from Kenny in Newport. Steve, Gloria, Russ, Fred, Serge, Henry, Jeremy and Kristina all showed their support shucking corn, scrubbing clams and mussels, bagging the Lobsters, making crudite, heating soup and we can’t forget, cleaning.
Overall, we heard great comments about the event and the food. I’d like to thank everyone who pitched in to make it a success. ACF funds are contributed to scholarships for local high school and college culinary students, which promotes interest and encourages young adults to pursue a profession in the Culinary Arts. Hope and Main Funds are used to help local entrepreneurs jump-start early-stage food companies.
